Public Use Files
Public Use Files (PUF) are absolutely anonymised microdata. Because of the strong anonymisation, only selected variables are available. Variables with a high degree of subject-related detail are aggregated. Detailed regional breakdowns can usually not be made based on Public Use Files. You can, however, make valid statements based on the available key figures. PUF are available for the analysis programs SAS, SPSS and Stata or are provided with the according input routines. Their use is not bound to a specific place of use.
Data use
To use Public Use Files, you have to log in using a registration tool (available only in German). The registration procedure is structured in two stages: After your registration a confirmation e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address you indicated. After that, you will be asked to verify your registration by clicking on a link. A short time later you will receive the confirmation of access from the RDC. You can then use your user name and password to log in and download Campus Files. The use is free of charge. Please note the obligation to cite all results correctly.
